Workshop of kasa-mawashi, a traditional Japanese juggling art. Jugglers trying to learn the art with a light baloon. When you get better, you can do it with a cup.
Masaki Hirano warms up before championship. Audience went wild when he did his super-quick contact-ish 3 ball manupilation.
Wei-tao, a foreign student from China doing 4 box fountain. He won the 3rd place with his funny style box routine which kept the audience in total cheer.
Satoru Ohno doing 67591b44153. Not only did he win the gold medal with a highly technical ball routine, he also won great applause from die-hard siteswap lovers including Thomas Dietz.
(Not sure about this one) the gold medal winner at team competition, uCauCa.
A team from Tokyo University does a passing with a large number of jugglers. The best and the brightest(supposed to be) showed a great sense of humor.
Dietz learns how to manipulate real dishes from a Kagura maestro at a night party. Dietz wowed the audience and the teacher with 3 dish 3 up pirouette. He does learn quick!
Yuki Kojima, the 2nd prize winner at IJA2005 individual, does 3 diabolo.
Tomohiro Morita doing 5 clubs. He's always surrounded by a bunch of jugglers while he polishes his beautiful numbers juggling.
Yes, diabolo is big in Japan. Two of the participants in 3 dia endurance kept going way too long. They decided to stop it at 1 hour 11 minutes 11 seconds. Great record!
Satoru Ohno, he won the 5 ball endurance as well with a relatively banal record of about 22 minutes. Was tired a bit?
Remember the alliance at the last World War, German fellas!? German guests burst into laughter when they put the kamikaze band on the head. Okay not a good joke...
Morita attacks Dietz! Wait for me at the next WJF, says Morita. Dietz concurs that Morita could win if he does crazy-fast pirouettes as many times as possible in a short time.
For some people, combat is not just for fun. They are dead serious. At the end of the day, we are descendants of samurai. May the warrior spirit rest in peace....
Now, everybody seems to be practicing 7 balls...
Sebastian, a well-known box manipulator pauses in front of the camera.
Sebastian shows off "a simple cascade" everywhere around his body. Back of his head, and on the back while lying on the belly. He seemed to be delighted when he learned that he now had a follower. There are at least two jugglers on the planet who does a cascade not only vertically but also horizontally. Somehow, they are out of gravity.
A free performance by Mori. Very creative routine with tennis rackets and balls. He goes, "Here we go the REAL Tennis!"
Ryuhan(Daisuke Hagiwara), doing a chin balance with boxes. He never stops comming up with new ideas!
Kazuhiro Shindo performing at the night show. All former champions with a few exceptions gathered this night and showed their routines. JJF has come a long way.
Takumi Okada, a former champion shows off his balance skill with two sets of kendama. He's also a many time kendama champion.
Tomohiro Morita shows his beautiful routine at the night show.
Tomohiro Kobayashi, also a former champion showing a fluid move with hoops. He has been woking on hoops for some time.
Still young Kikyo brothers peforme highly technical yet entertaining passing routine. They did up to 10 clubs. The younger Kikyo is still 16 years old.
